Yoga for Depression
This is a video of Yoga for Depression.
It is slightly longer than my usual videos and is designed to be done on days when you don’t feel like doing much at all.
The stretches are gentle and most of them can be done in bed.
Don’t force yourself to do anything you aren’t ready to do and even if you just do the first 5 minutes, then that is enough.
Though depression can be a very isolating experience it is a common one. Even though most people don’t talk about it, everybody will be effected by it some time in their lives (either by having it themselves, or someone close to them going through it).
It is especially common for women to experience depression when pregnant, or postnatally. Though this happens to up to 1 in 8 women (and this is only the ones who speak to their GPs) it is still a taboo subject, as many fear that they will be judged for experiencing negative emotions during what is supposed to be a happy time.
If you are worried that you might be experiencing Depression then there is help out there, the first port of call is your GP who can advise you on what’s available in your area.
